Renowned Coach & Cardiologist talk cholesterol

On today’s show, Jane speaks with two world-class guests about the shape of our hearts. First up is two-time NFL Coach of the Year and Super Bowl LV winner, Bruce Arians. Coach Arians, who currently serves as senior football consultant for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was formerly with the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts. On this segment, he talks about a wake-up call he had in 2017 when he learned he had heart disease after being hospitalized for chest pains—adding injury to a loss he blamed on a bad penalty call. Coach, who struggled with high levels of bad cholesterol for years, shares how he’s made his heart health a priority, including how he stays on top of his cholesterol game on and off the field.  He also discusses how training—and training tables—have changed, as well as the lifestyle habits of his players, from college rookies to Tom Brady.  Coach also tell us about his partnership with Novartis, makers of Leqvio, for the Coaching Cholesterol initiative, which encourages people to talk to their doctor about what to do if they need help lowering their bad cholesterol.  Then Jane also interviews celebrated LA-based cardiologist, Dr. Norman Lepor, who will very clearly and informatively help us all get our hearts back on the beating path in our quest to become Better Than Before.
