Celebrated design expert on giving back
Jane’s guest today is world famous interior designer, Thom Filicia. The founder and chief creative officer of the world-renowned New York City-based design firm Thom Filicia, Inc., Thom is best known for his role as the interior designer on the Emmy-award-winning program, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Not simply a TV star and huge professional success, he is also a noted author who co-wrote a best-selling book based on his show. A hero as well in private life, ten years ago Thom donated his bone marrow to his brother, who was diagnosed with myelofibrosis. A complex blood cancer, myelofibrosis, affects nearly 25,000 people in the U.S. On this segment, Thom will be joined by medical expert, Dr. Andrew Kuykendall, a hematology and oncology specialist to discuss the new GSK initiative, Mapping Myelofibrosis. This campaign works to raise awareness and provides educational tools and resources to help navigate all aspects of the disease.
