The Inflammation-Heart Disease Connection

The foodie world was set abuzz recently when a California man brought something called the Ramen Burger to our attention. Instead of a bun, the hamburger was sandwiched between two discs of compressed Ramen noodles. Apparently, it was such a runaway success that, not to be outdone, a major fast food chain just introduced what they are calling the French Fry Burger — literally four French fries laid across a beef patty inside a bun. Do all these extra fat loaded calories bother jaded New Yorkers — at least those with any arteries left unclogged? “Not at all,” claims one such individual I spoke to about the topic. “Bring it on. It’s all going to the same place, right? So they should put some Pepsi in it, too, while they’re at it!!
